Synopsis
The Eclipse (2009) is an Irish supernatural drama you can watch online on iFILM. Director Conor McPherson, adapting his own story, follows widower Michael (Ciarán Hinds) — a quiet man raising two kids in a coastal town who starts seeing things he cannot account for.
Volunteering at the local literary festival, he meets Lena (Iben Hjejle), a writer of supernatural fiction who takes his visions seriously. She is also being aggressively pursued by Nicholas (Aidan Quinn), a vain American novelist and her one-time lover, whose jealousy adds a jagged human edge to the mounting strangeness. Michael's apparitions grow more vivid the closer he gets to Lena — and what he eventually confronts is both stranger and more human than a standard ghost story.
