Synopsis
The Wicker Man (1973) is a British folk horror by Robin Hardy you can watch online on iFILM. Devout police sergeant Neil Howie sails to a remote Scottish island to find a missing girl the locals swear never lived there at all.
Edward Woodward plays Howie, a buttoned-up Christian who expects answers and gets riddles instead. The islanders sing about fertility, dance around fires and answer only to Lord Summerisle, played with sly charm by Christopher Lee. Every door Howie opens reveals another ritual, another smiling face, another reason his faith and theirs cannot share the same ground.
Shot along the coast of Dumfries and Galloway from a script by playwright Anthony Shaffer, the film spent decades being reassembled from cut prints. No gore, no creature in the shadows.
