It Follows

It Follows (2015) is David Robert Mitchell's horror film you can watch online on iFILM. After a casual night with a guy she likes, college student Jay learns the worst part of the morning after: something is now walking toward her. It doesn't run. It just keeps coming, in the shape of strangers and people she loves.

Only the cursed can see the thing, and it never stops, never tires. The single way out is cruel: pass it on by sleeping with someone else. Jay clings to the kids around her, neighbor Yara, smitten Paul, her sister Kelly, while the suburbs of Detroit stretch empty and quiet behind them. Maika Monroe carries the film as a young woman robbed of the simple right to feel safe, and the camera keeps panning slow across the horizon, daring you to spot the figure first.

Mitchell built a rare scare machine with almost no gore and no cheap jumps. The dread lives in the pacing, the bare streets and Disasterpeace's pulsing synth score.
