Scream 2

Scream 2 (1997) is Wes Craven's slasher sequel, and you can watch it online on iFILM. Two years after the Woodsboro killings, Sidney Prescott has rebuilt her life at college. Then the Ghostface mask shows up again.

This time the murders are timed to "Stab," a movie based on reporter Gale Weathers' bestseller about the original spree. The first blood spills in a packed cinema. Sidney (Neve Campbell) is back in the crosshairs, with deputy Dewey (David Arquette) and the sharp-elbowed Gale (Courteney Cox) circling close. Everyone's a suspect: classmates, boyfriends, the press. The cast also packs in Sarah Michelle Gellar, Timothy Olyphant, Jada Pinkett Smith and Jerry O'Connell.

Craven keeps poking at genre rules, this time dissecting the logic of sequels from inside the story itself. The result is a rare horror follow-up that holds up against the first film: smart talk, fair-play suspects, and a finale that rides every ringing phone to the end.
