Summer 1963, a resort hotel in the Catskill Mountains. Baby arrives for a family vacation expecting nothing. Then she wanders into a late-night staff party and hears the music. When Johnny's partner Penny (Cynthia Rhodes) can't perform at the season's showcase event, he reluctantly asks Baby to fill in. She has two weeks to learn. Her father Dr. Houseman — Jerry Orbach — has no idea, and there is zero chance he would approve. Every rehearsal in that cramped cabin pushes the two closer to something neither planned for.
