Godzilla Raids Again

Godzilla Raids Again (1955) is Toho's first Godzilla sequel, available to watch online on iFILM. Directed by Motoyoshi Oda, the film arrived just one year after the original and introduced the idea that would define the kaiju genre for decades: two giant monsters fighting each other.

Two scout pilots spot a second Godzilla at sea — and beside it, a spiked creature called Anguirus. Both are heading for Japan. Before long the pair tear through the port districts of Osaka in a night battle the military can only watch. The weapon that killed the first Godzilla no longer exists. The authorities improvise, and the city pays the price.
