Synopsis
Eating Raoul (1982) is an American cult black comedy directed by Paul Bartel — watch online on iFILM. Paul and Mary Bland are perfectly ordinary Angelenos with one modest dream: open a gourmet restaurant. They have no money. What they do have is a building full of loud, boozy swingers who keep knocking on the wrong door.
One night, Paul kills an intruder with a frying pan and finds a wallet stuffed with cash. The solution practically writes itself. They place a newspaper ad, lure "perverts" to their apartment, and turn unwanted visitors into a funding stream. Paul Bartel plays Paul, Mary Woronov plays Mary — both walking a deadpan line between domesticity and murder without blinking once.
Shot on a shoestring and picked up by art-house cinemas across the country, the film became a genuine underground hit. Sharp, dry, and completely committed to its own absurd logic. Watch Eating Raoul (1982) online on iFILM.
