Moving On

Moving On (2023) is a comedy-drama you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Paul Weitz and starring Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin as two old friends who reconnect at a funeral and decide to settle an old score. The tagline says it all: it's never too late to get even.

Claire and Evelyn haven't spoken in years. At their late friend's wake, they end up seated near the widower — played by Malcolm McDowell — a man both women believe got away with something unforgivable decades ago. The plan they hatch is simple enough. Pulling it off, with their histories tangled up along the way, turns out to be considerably more complicated.

The film runs on the energy of its two leads. Fonda and Tomlin have real late-friendship chemistry, and Richard Roundtree rounds out the ensemble. Light in tone, but not without teeth. Stream Moving On online on iFILM.
