Synopsis
The Keep (1983) is Michael Mann's supernatural horror film you can watch online on iFILM. The Carpathian mountains, Romania, 1941: a Wehrmacht detachment moves into a massive ancient fortress to hold a mountain pass. Scott Glenn, Jürgen Prochnow, Gabriel Byrne and Ian McKellen head the cast.
Two soldiers pry open a sealed chamber inside the fortress walls. What gets out has been locked in by generations of local guardians. It starts killing — methodically, nightly. An SS unit arrives, convinced local partisans are responsible, and takes villagers hostage. The fortress does not care. A Jewish historian brought in under armed escort to read the inscriptions on the walls begins to suspect the entity is not hunting victims at all; it is waiting for someone to set it free.
