About

Synopsis

Courage Under Fire (1996) is a war drama wrapped around a detective story, and you can watch online on iFILM. Edward Zwick directs Denzel Washington and Meg Ryan.

It opens in the Gulf during the opening weeks of 1991. Lieutenant Colonel Serling gives a fatal order in a chaotic night tank battle and hits his own men. Brass buries the truth and parks him behind a Pentagon desk. His new job sounds routine: confirm whether Captain Karen Walden (Meg Ryan), killed in a downed helicopter, earned the Medal of Honor. Then the witnesses, including soldiers played by Lou Diamond Phillips and a very young Matt Damon, start telling the same night in clashing versions.

Zwick shapes the picture as an investigation where every interview repaints what happened, a Rashomon in fatigues. Washington plays a man chasing someone else's story to settle his own guilt. Stream Courage Under Fire (1996) online on iFILM.
