Resurrection

Resurrection (狂野时代, 2025) is a Chinese-French sci-fi drama you can watch online on iFILM. Directed by Bi Gan — the filmmaker behind Long Day's Journey Into Night — it stars Jackson Yee, Shu Qi, and Mark Chao in a 159-minute co-production by Dangmai Films and ARTE France Cinéma. In a future that traded the ability to dream for the promise of living forever, one man still dreams. His visions are contagious — they leak into waking reality and pull chaos with them. A figure known as the Great Other (Shu Qi) sends the Dreamer (Jackson Yee) into a century-long trance: he inhabits five different lives, in five different bodies, at five charged moments across the twentieth century. Each time he wakes into a new existence, the previous one is already gone.

Bi Gan constructs time as sensation rather than chronology. The hundred-year span unfolds in chapters named after the five senses — touch, taste, smell, sound, vision — each shot with a different visual logic.
