Synopsis
Wake Up (2024) is a French horror-thriller you can watch online on iFILM. The film comes from directors François Simard, Yoann-Karl Whissell and Anouk Whissell — the trio behind Turbo Kid — and it works the same vein: contained chaos, brutal economy, no wasted motion.
A group of teenage environmental activists sneak into a large superstore after closing to stage an overnight protest. Two guards catch them. One guard dies in a scuffle. The other, played by Gary Anthony Stennette, doesn't reach for a radio. He locks the doors and starts hunting. Turlo Convery leads the group of kids who now have eighty minutes of darkness and no way out.
The premise is stripped down on purpose — this is a chase film that earns its tension by keeping the geometry simple and the violence real.
