A drunk driver hits something on a dark highway. Teenagers vandalize a cemetery. A convenience store clerk talks a buddy into faking a robbery. A young woman lies to two different boyfriends about being pregnant, and each is ready to do something stupid for her. The film rewinds the same evening from shifting points of view, and what first looked like dumb bad luck turns out to be a tight chain of lies, coincidence and bodies. Every new piece rewrites the one before it.

The compact ensemble brings together Hilary Swank, Patrick Swayze, Colin Hanks, Ben Foster, Rachael Leigh Cook and Barbara Hershey.
