Clear and Present Danger

Harrison Ford returns as Jack Ryan in Clear and Present Danger, the 1994 thriller you can watch online when you want espionage with a conscience. Phillip Noyce directs Ryan into the CIA's top intelligence post, where a friend's murder and a drug cartel pull him toward a secret far uglier than any field operation.

The deeper Ryan digs, the clearer it becomes that the war on the Colombian cartels is being fought off the books, with the president looking the other way. Willem Dafoe plays John Clark, the operative dropped into the jungle to do the dirty work, while Ryan tries to expose the men signing the orders above him.

Noyce splits the film cleanly between Washington back rooms and brutal action in the field, and it works on both fronts. James Earl Jones, Joaquim de Almeida and Anne Archer round out the cast. A drama about loyalty and what it costs to keep your hands clean. Watch on iFILM.
