About

Synopsis

Bloody Sunday (2002) is a British-Irish historical drama you can watch online on iFILM. Director Paul Greengrass shot the film entirely on handheld cameras with no conventional score, placing the viewer inside the events of 30 January 1972 in Derry, Northern Ireland.

That afternoon a civil rights march of several thousand people ended in gunfire. British paratroopers opened fire on the crowd; thirteen were killed and fourteen wounded — among the dead were teenagers. James Nesbitt plays MP Ivan Cooper, the march organiser who spent the day trying to keep protesters safe and the protest peaceful.

The film unfolds in near real time, drawing on inquiry transcripts and firsthand accounts. Greengrass won the Golden Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival for the picture. Watch Bloody Sunday (2002) online on iFILM.
