Versus

Versus (2000) is a Japanese action-horror-fantasy you can watch online on iFILM. Director Ryuhei Kitamura shot this cult debut with Tak Sakaguchi on almost no budget — and nearly zero restraint. The premise: the world contains 666 portals between the living and the dead, and the 444th opens inside a forest where every corpse eventually gets back up.

A prison escapee known only as KSC2-303 runs straight into that forest, lands in the middle of a gangland standoff, and discovers the bodies buried there are no longer staying buried. A mysterious woman, an unkillable enemy and some very active dead men later, the film turns into a relentless string of sword fights, shootouts and hand-to-hand brawls with barely a breath between them.
