Identity Thief

Identity Thief (2013) is a crime comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Seth Gordon directs Jason Bateman and Melissa McCarthy in a road-trip caper about one stolen name and two very different people.

Bateman's character is a buttoned-up Denver accountant whose life runs on a tidy schedule. Then his cards stop working, the police haul him in for crimes in another state, and he learns a stranger in Florida has been living large on his identity. With his job on the line, he flies south, corners the con artist, and drags her back across the country himself. Trouble is, she lies with every breath, throws a mean punch, and brings a trail of chaos wherever she goes. Bounty hunters and a pair of armed thugs are chasing her too.

McCarthy earned a Golden Globe nomination for the part, and her chemistry with the deadpan Bateman carries the whole thing. Jon Favreau, Amanda Peet and Jonathan Banks turn up along the way. Stream Identity Thief (2013) online on iFILM.
