About

Synopsis

The Wild Life (1984) is an American teen comedy-drama you can watch online on iFILM. Directed by Art Linson, it gathers a cast of young actors — Chris Penn, Lea Thompson, Eric Stoltz, Rick Moranis and Randy Quaid — for a slice-of-life look at the summer after high school.

Bill has just moved into his own apartment and ended things with Anita. She promptly finds an older man. Wrestler Tom is chasing Eileen, who doesn't have much patience for anyone with a Y chromosome, and wild-card Jim treats every bad idea like an experiment worth trying. Nobody is ready for adult life. Nobody lets that stop them.

The film leans into the energy of 1980s American youth culture — loud music, messy decisions, and the specific freedom of being eighteen and untethered. It's less polished than some of the decade's better-known coming-of-age comedies, which gives it a rougher, more honest edge. Stream The Wild Life (1984) online on iFILM.
