Synopsis

Journalist Mikael Blomkvist has just lost a libel suit and his good name with it. Then aging tycoon Henrik Vanger summons him to a windswept family island with one demand: find out what happened to his niece Harriet, who vanished four decades ago and was never found. Helping him is Lisbeth Salander — a brilliant, guarded hacker with a photographic memory and a dragon inked across her back. Together they pull a wealthy family's buried history into daylight.
Michael Nyqvist plays Blomkvist, but it is Noomi Rapace as Lisbeth who made this film travel far past Scandinavia. The original Swedish title means "Men Who Hate Women," and the story never softens that edge. Expect a slow burn, a cold Nordic palette, and 152 minutes that take their time.
