Pitch Perfect

Pitch Perfect (2012) is Jason Moore's musical comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Freshman Beca wants to move to LA and produce records, not join a club. Instead she lands in the Barden Bellas, an all-female a cappella group that sings with zero instruments and even less attitude.

The Bellas are a mismatched crew: uptight leader Aubrey, warm-hearted Chloe, brash Fat Amy played by Rebel Wilson, and barely-audible Lilly. They keep losing to the campus boys' team because they recycle the same stale arrangements year after year. Beca shakes the whole thing up, blending pop hits into sharp mashups and dragging the group toward the national finals. Anna Kendrick plays the stubborn loner who slowly lets people in, sparring and flirting with rival singer Jesse, played by Skylar Astin.

The screenplay grew out of Mickey Rapkin's reporting on the real, weirdly competitive world of college a cappella. The film built a loyal following on its quick jokes, the deadpan commentary of Elizabeth Banks and John Michael Higgins, and a live riff-off that became a fan favorite.
