The Los Angeles district attorney makes him an offer: run the high-profile crimes unit and go after the people he used to protect. Stark agrees — same ruthlessness, completely different target. Jeri Ryan, Sara Carter, Henry Simmons and Kevin Alejandro make up the team, and Spike Lee directed several episodes across the run. The show's appeal is Stark himself: charming, cutting, not quite trustworthy even on the right side of the law. That tension carries it further than the case-of-the-week format usually allows.
