Saving Grace (2007) is a TNT drama-fantasy series you can watch online on iFILM, with Holly Hunter as Grace Hanadarko — an Oklahoma City homicide detective who is very good at her job and spectacularly bad at everything else. The show ran for three seasons, from 2007 to 2010.

Grace drinks too much, sleeps with married men and has spent years building a life with as little reflection in it as possible. Then one night, after a crisis that could have ended everything, she meets Earl — a scruffy, matter-of-fact angel who seems genuinely puzzled by the assignment he has been given. Grace does not find religion. She finds an argument that refuses to go away.

Holly Hunter won a Golden Globe for the role, and it is easy to see why: Grace is self-destructive in specific, recognizable ways, not in the poetic TV version of the thing.
