Sorcerer

Sorcerer (1977) is William Friedkin's white-knuckle thriller you can watch online on iFILM. A 121-minute drama and adventure led by Roy Scheider, shot across the jungles of South America.

Four strangers are stranded in a dirt-poor village, each running from a past that bars him from going home. An oil company dangles a brutal job: drive two trucks loaded with aged dynamite two hundred miles through the jungle. The explosives have rotted and sweat raw nitroglycerin, so a single pothole could end everything. The reward is ten thousand dollars and a clean set of papers. Bruno Cremer and Francisco Rabal share the cab alongside Scheider.

Friedkin made this loose reworking of Henri-Georges Clouzot's The Wages of Fear right after The Exorcist and The French Connection. It bombed on release, buried by Star Wars that same summer, then grew into a cult favorite.
