Rocketman

Director Dexter Fletcher skips the tidy birth-to-fame timeline. Reg Dwight, a kid from suburban London, recounts his life from a group-therapy chair, and the memories spill straight into musical numbers where people lift off the floor and dance to "Crocodile Rock." Beside him stand lyricist Bernie Taupin (Jamie Bell), his songwriting partner across the decades, and manager John Reid (Richard Madden), whose affection curdles into a cage. Underneath the fame sit addiction, loneliness and a mother who could never quite love him back.
