The Stranger

The Stranger (1946) is an Orson Welles crime thriller you can watch online on iFILM. The war is over, and investigator Wilson hunts Franz Kindler, an architect of Nazi mass murder who has vanished without a trace.

The trail leads to sleepy Hartford, Connecticut. There a respected schoolteacher named Charles Rankin has just married the daughter of a Supreme Court justice. Wilson is certain Rankin is Kindler. He has no proof, and the new bride has no idea what kind of man she let into her home. Edward G. Robinson plays the relentless agent, Loretta Young the wife trapped in a slowly closing snare, and Welles himself the charming killer hiding behind a respectable American face.
