The Shrinking Man
Synopsis
The Shrinking Man (L'Homme qui rétrécit, 2025) is a French-Belgian sci-fi adventure you can watch online on iFILM. Directed by Jan Kounen, it stars Jean Dujardin as Paul — a shipbuilding company owner whose life collapses after a strange, unexplained event at sea leaves him shrinking with no medical explanation in sight.
By the time Paul is only a few centimetres tall, home is no longer safe. A dripping tap becomes a flood, the family cat a predator, and his own cellar a maze he cannot escape. His wife Élise (Marie-Josée Croze) and daughter Mia (Daphné Richard) are right upstairs — unreachable. Survival becomes the only thing that matters.
Kounen, known for visceral French genre films and his psychedelic Amazonia documentary Blueberry, brings that eye for distorted scale and altered perception to a very domestic premise. The result is sci-fi that plays out entirely in a suburban house, shot from a viewpoint most films never use. Stream The Shrinking Man (2025) online on iFILM.
