The DUFF

The DUFF (2015) is a teen comedy and romance you can watch online on iFILM. High schooler Bianca Piper finds out her classmates see her as the DUFF — the Designated Ugly Fat Friend, the approachable one people befriend just to get closer to her two glamorous best friends.

Mae Whitman plays Bianca with a sharp tongue and zero patience for the label. To shed it, she cuts a deal with her childhood neighbor and school jock Wesley (Robbie Amell): he coaches her on flirting and clothes, she drags him through chemistry so he can stay on the team. The arrangement runs smoothly until real feelings creep in and queen bee Madison (Bella Thorne) sets out to torch Bianca's reputation with a single viral video.

Director Ari Sandel updates the John Hughes high-school formula for an age of group chats, livestreams and screenshots that never disappear. Ken Jeong and Allison Janney show up in supporting roles.
