The German officers bellow half-deciphered orders, the British agent garbles every phrase beyond recognition, and René addresses the audience directly with the weary calm of a man who just wanted to run a quiet restaurant. Carmen Silvera and Vicki Michelle are series regulars who keep the comic timing sharp through all nine seasons.
