About

Synopsis

Too Big to Fail (2011) is HBO's historical drama you can watch online on iFILM — the inside story of those frantic weeks in autumn 2008 when a handful of officials decided whether the global banking system would survive the weekend. Director Curtis Hanson assembled William Hurt, Paul Giamatti, Billy Crudup, Topher Grace and James Woods for a film that feels more like a political thriller than a TV movie.

Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson is at the center — not a villain, not a hero, just a man without a good option. Lehman is already gone. Merrill Lynch is hours from collapse. AIG is dragging millions of retirement accounts toward zero. Paul Giamatti plays Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke with barely controlled panic, while James Woods captures Lehman CEO Richard Fuld's disbelief at his own ruin.

Based on Andrew Ross Sorkin's bestselling book, the film was released on HBO in 2011 and earned three Emmy nominations. It skips the populist outrage and goes straight to the conference rooms: late-night calls, White House pressure, and impossible choices made in minutes. Stream Too Big to Fail (2011) online on iFILM for a sharp, detailed look at how the financial world nearly came undone.
