Hustlers

Hustlers (2019) is a crime drama with a sharp comic edge you can watch online on iFILM. Writer-director Lorene Scafaria built it from a viral New York Magazine story about strip-club dancers who stopped waiting for big tips and started taking the money outright.

Destiny (Constance Wu) learns the trade from Ramona, played by Jennifer Lopez in a career-best turn. Before the 2008 crash, their Wall Street club is a goldmine: the clients are the same brokers and bankers about to wreck the economy. When the cash dries up, the women flip the script. They spike marks with a blend of ketamine and MDMA, walk them into the club, and run up their credit cards while they're too far gone to notice. The crew fills out with Keke Palmer, Lili Reinhart and Julia Stiles, plus cameos from Cardi B and Lizzo.

Scafaria refuses to judge her characters, framing the scam as a story of friendship, greed and loyalty among women working the wrong side of the law. Lopez earned a Golden Globe nomination and heavy Oscar buzz for Ramona. Stream Hustlers (2019) online on iFILM.
