About

Synopsis

Inside Job (2010) is Charles Ferguson's documentary investigation that you can watch online on iFILM. Matt Damon narrates while the people who broke the world's markets in the autumn of 2008 face the camera.

Ferguson walks through, step by step, how banks, ratings agencies and regulators bolted together a machine that cost the planet more than twenty trillion dollars. Millions lost their homes and their jobs; the people who caused it kept their bonuses. On screen sit financiers, ministers, and economists from Harvard and Columbia. Some defend themselves, others stumble badly when the director asks a plain question. One scholar simply cannot account for where his consulting fees came from.

The film won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature. It plays less like a dry report and more like a cold, almost forensic case file on how greed turned into an industry with its own lobbyists. Names, numbers, schemes, all spelled out loud. Stream Inside Job (2010) online on iFILM.
