Determined to figure out what happened, Fontaine (John Boyega) teams up with a mismatched crew: a fast-talking pimp called Slick Charles, played by Jamie Foxx, and a sharp sex worker named Yo-Yo (Teyonah Parris). Beneath their neighborhood they find a hidden lab, and behind it a government program that has been experimenting on the whole community for years. The deeper they dig, the more absurd and sinister it gets.

Taylor's directorial debut fuses 1970s blaxploitation with paranoid science fiction and biting social satire. Grainy film stock, a funk-heavy soundtrack, and Kiefer Sutherland turning up in a key role. Netflix released it in 2023, and it picked up a cult following fast.
