Synopsis
The Resurrected (1991) is a horror thriller you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Dan O'Bannon — the writer behind Alien. Wealthy scientist Charles Dexter Ward becomes obsessed with the journals of an ancestor executed for sorcery centuries earlier. People vanish near his estate. A stench seeps through the walls. His wife notices he no longer quite seems like himself.
She hires private detective John March to find out what happened to her husband. What March uncovers goes well past occult hobby: the man walking around in Ward's clothes has dug up something that should have stayed buried. The film adapts H.P. Lovecraft's "The Case of Charles Dexter Ward" and stays truer to the source's creeping dread than most Lovecraft films manage. Chris Sarandon carries the dual role with real menace, and O'Bannon keeps the horror slow and suffocating rather than cheap.
