Synopsis
The Return (2020) — watch online on iFILM, a Canadian horror film directed by BJ Verot and starring Richard Harmon. When his father dies, college student Roger goes back to the family home he left behind years ago. He left for reasons he hasn't talked about much.
Whatever he escaped as a child didn't go anywhere. The house is still there. The memories are still there. And something else, harder to name, that Roger can't find a rational explanation for. Sarah Thompson and Marina Stevenson Kerr play figures from his past who seem to know more than they're saying. At 90 minutes the film keeps its pace tight and doesn't overstay its premise.
The horror here builds on contrast — a quiet suburban house, ordinary daylight, the slow accumulation of wrongness that Roger can't quite put his finger on until it's too late to walk away. Stream The Return (2020) online on iFILM.
