Barefoot

Barefoot (Barfuß, 2005) — watch online on iFILM. This German romantic comedy was directed by and stars Til Schweiger as Nick Keller, a broke slacker working as a janitor at a psychiatric clinic who prevents a young patient from jumping off a ledge.

The patient, Leila — played by Johanna Wokalek — has spent so long inside the clinic that the outside world is entirely foreign to her. When Nick gets fired, she simply follows him out the door. No shoes, no coat, no idea what a traffic light means. His attempts to send her back fail completely, and soon the odd couple is on the road to his wealthy family's wedding, where Leila's radical honesty begins to expose everything his relatives have been carefully hiding. Michael Mendl, Nadja Tiller, and Jürgen Vogel round out the family portrait.
