About

Synopsis

The Golden Bowl (2000) — watch online James Ivory's adaptation of Henry James's novel, a psychological drama with Kate Beckinsale, Uma Thurman, Jeremy Northam, Nick Nolte, and Anjelica Huston on iFILM. Wealthy American Adam Verver has built a quiet life in Europe collecting great art; his daughter Maggie marries the impoverished Italian Prince Amerigo, and everything looks perfectly arranged.

What nobody says aloud is the thing everyone eventually knows: the Prince and Maggie's closest friend Charlotte Stant have a past. When Charlotte marries Adam, the two former lovers are placed back in each other's orbit, and the film becomes a study in restraint — every charged glance and carefully chosen word carrying the weight of what cannot be said.

Ivory turns Henry James's dense late prose into something visually cool and emotionally suffocating. The power here belongs to whoever keeps the secret longest. Stream The Golden Bowl (2000) online on iFILM.
