Synopsis
Asterix at the Olympic Games (Astérix aux Jeux olympiques, 2008) is a family adventure comedy you can watch online on iFILM, starring Gérard Depardieu and Clovis Cornillac. A lovesick young Gaul named Alafolix has fallen for Princess Irina of Greece. The catch: Brutus, son of Julius Caesar himself, wants her hand too.
There is only one way to settle it — win the Olympic Games. So the village Gauls, led by clever Asterix and the mighty Obelix, sail to Greece to face the finest athletes of the ancient world. Brutus plays dirty. He bribes the judges, drugs the rivals, and quietly schemes to be rid of his own father. With the druid's magic potion banned from the contest, wit will have to do the heavy lifting.
Directed by Thomas Langmann and Frédéric Forestier and adapted from the beloved French comics by Goscinny and Uderzo, the film packs a wild pan-European cast. Alain Delon hams it up as a preening Caesar, with José Garcia and Benoît Poelvoorde along for the chaos and real sports stars dropping into cameos. Big stunts, broad gags, plenty of nonsense.
