Synopsis
Strange Brew (1983) is a Canadian comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas — who co-directed and star as the McKenzie brothers — originally built Bob and Doug for their SCTV sketch show before spinning them off into this feature. Max von Sydow rounds out the cast as the film's scheming villain.
Brothers Bob and Doug McKenzie are lured to the Elsinore Brewery, where orphan Pam is trying to reclaim her late father's business. The man in charge, Brewmeister Smith, has been lacing the beer with a mind-altering substance and running a squad of violent hockey players as his enforcers. The whole thing is a loose riff on Hamlet — castle included — with the bumbling McKenzies standing in for the brooding Danish prince.
