Synopsis
St. Elmo's Fire (1985) is a drama with a comic, romantic edge that you can watch online on iFILM. Directed by Joel Schumacher, it gathers the era's Brat Pack: Emilio Estevez, Rob Lowe, Demi Moore, Judd Nelson, Andie MacDowell and Ally Sheedy.
Seven friends have just finished Georgetown and refuse to let go of who they were in college. They still meet at the bar that gives the film its name, but adult life keeps pressing in — first jobs, debt, messy romances, quiet jealousy. A reckless saxophone player, an ambitious young politician, a glamorous spendthrift and a lovesick waiter put a friendship to the test that not every bond survives.
The movie became one of the defining snapshots of the 1980s, and its music outlived it: David Foster's instrumental theme and John Parr's "St. Elmo's Fire (Man in Motion)" topped the charts. Nostalgia, early cynicism and a cast of soon-to-be stars keep it watchable decades on. Stream St. Elmo's Fire (1985) online on iFILM.
