Synopsis

The Butcher's Wife (1991) is a romantic fantasy-comedy directed by Terry Hughes — watch it online on iFILM. Demi Moore plays Marina, a clairvoyant who grew up on a Carolina island waiting for the man from her dreams.

When a New York butcher named Leo Lemke (George Dzundza) drifts into view, Marina takes it as a sign and marries him on the spot. Manhattan is a long way from the coast. But the city turns out to be exactly the right place for her gift: neighbors, customers, strangers — everyone who crosses the counter ends up nudged toward something they didn't know they wanted. Jeff Daniels plays Dr. Alex Tremor, a psychiatrist who sets out to undo Marina's influence on his patients and slowly loses the argument. Mary Steenburgen and Frances McDormand round out the ensemble as neighbors whose carefully arranged lives take unexpected turns.

A gentle, warm-hearted comedy about a gift that can't be turned off — and a city that ends up better for it. Stream The Butcher's Wife (1991) online on iFILM.
