Synopsis
The Return of the Living Dead (1985) is a horror-comedy you can watch online on iFILM. It's the directing debut of Dan O'Bannon, the writer behind Alien, and it's the film that invented the gag of zombies groaning for "brains."
At a medical supply warehouse in Louisville, two employees foolishly puncture an old army drum. Gas hisses out, and every corpse in the cemetery next door wakes up at once. The catch: these dead are fast, they talk, and a bullet to the head won't stop them. A pack of teenage punks happens to be partying nearby, and their night goes very wrong. Clu Gulager and James Karen lead the cast, with Linnea Quigley as the unforgettable Trash.
The movie blends gory splatter with pitch-black jokes and eighties punk rock; the soundtrack pulls in The Cramps, 45 Grave and The Damned. Over the decades it grew into a cult classic with a devoted following. Stream The Return of the Living Dead (1985) online on iFILM.
