Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters

Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters (2017) is a Japanese sci-fi anime you can watch online on iFILM. By the end of the 20th century, Earth no longer belonged to humans. Giant kaiju rose from the planet's depths, and the deadliest of them all was Godzilla, a beast breathing radioactive fire.

Twenty thousand years later, a small band of survivors turns back toward the world they fled. They left as children chasing a new home among the stars and found nothing worth settling. Now their only option is the ruined planet behind them. A young soldier named Haruo pushes the others into a near-suicidal mission, driven less by hope than by a need to make the monster pay.

This is the opening chapter of an animated trilogy produced by Polygon Pictures for Netflix.
