Synopsis
Django (1966) is Sergio Corbucci's cult spaghetti western, and you can watch it online on iFILM. A lone gunslinger trudges out of the mud toward a dying border town, dragging a coffin with a heavy secret behind him.
Django (Franco Nero) ends up caught between two factions. On one side, a clan of red-hooded racists led by Major Jackson, who shoots Mexicans for sport. On the other, the revolutionaries of General Hugo Rodriguez. Django serves neither — he carries his own grudge and his own plan, and whatever rests inside that coffin can settle a gunfight on its own. The streets run with mud, the saloon stands empty, and almost everyone here is about to die.
The film was so violent for its day that several countries banned it. Corbucci set the template for an entire subgenre, and the Django name was later borrowed by dozens of unofficial sequels and, half a century on, by Quentin Tarantino. The role turned Franco Nero into a star. A muddy, mean, foundational western. Stream Django (1966) online on iFILM.
