Keoma

Keoma (1976) is an Italian spaghetti western directed by Enzo G. Castellari that you can watch online on iFILM. Franco Nero plays Keoma, a half-breed Civil War veteran riding back into a town gripped by plague and ruled by the outlaw Caldwell and his thugs. His three half-brothers have joined the gang. Nobody wants him there.

Keoma pulls a pregnant woman away from Caldwell's men — they were driving her out with the sick. He partners with George, his father's old ranch hand played by Woody Strode, and starts dismantling the gang's hold on the town one ugly confrontation at a time. The town itself feels like it's already dying.

Castellari pushed the genre into darker, almost Shakespearean territory: a cursed bloodline, treacherous kin, a loner who belongs nowhere. The score, written and performed with a folk-ballad edge, bleeds into the action rather than sitting underneath it.
