Synopsis
"Adiós, Sabata" (1970) is an Italian-Spanish spaghetti western you can watch online on iFILM. Yul Brynner plays Sabata, hired by Mexican guerrilla leader Señor Ocaño to steal a wagonload of gold from the Austrian army occupying Mexico under Emperor Maximilian I. The heist goes sideways: the wagon is full of sand.
Austrian Colonel Skimmel moved the gold before Sabata got there. So the job becomes something different — track down the colonel and take what was promised. Dean Reed and Ignazio Spalla join Sabata's shifting band of partners, each with motives that don't quite align. Director Gianfranco Parolini keeps the action moving through a landscape of double-crosses and improvised plans.
Brynner replaced Lee Van Cleef from the first film and gives Sabata a different register — less icy, more deliberately charismatic. The second entry in Parolini's Sabata trilogy, shot at Cinecittà studios, holds up well as a mid-tier genre entry with a stronger-than-usual lead. Stream "Adiós, Sabata" (1970) online on iFILM.
