Synopsis
Sabata (1969) is an Italian Spaghetti Western you can watch online on iFILM. Director Gianfranco Parolini cast Lee Van Cleef as the title gunslinger — cold-eyed, calculating, and always three moves ahead. The original title, Ehi amico... c'è Sabata. Hai chiuso!, says it all: if Sabata shows up, you're finished.
A group of prominent citizens have quietly looted an Army safe for $100,000, planning to buy the land where the railroad will run. Clean and clever — until Sabata rides in. He knows what happened, knows who did it, and intends to collect. His allies are an unlikely trio: a trick-shot entertainer, a mute acrobat, and a garrulous drunk, each useful in ways that only become clear when the shooting starts.
Parolini frames the whole thing as a slow-burn chess match rather than a straight shoot-em-up, and Van Cleef delivers the kind of performance where a single raised eyebrow does the work of a monologue. A durable entry in the genre's golden era. Watch Sabata (1969) online on iFILM.
