Synopsis

Thirst (박쥐, 2009) is Park Chan-wook's Korean horror drama you can watch online on iFILM. A devout, well-loved priest volunteers for a dangerous medical trial, dies, and comes back from a mysterious blood transfusion as a vampire.

Father Sang-hyun once gave his life to caring for the sick. Now he survives only on blood, and his body craves everything his faith forbids. Then he meets Tae-ju, the unhappy wife of a childhood friend, and the encounter undoes him. Desire turns into obsession, lies, and worse. Song Kang-ho carries the lead, with Kim Ok-bin as the woman whose own transformation may be the strangest of all.

The film won the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival and remains one of the oddest vampire stories of its decade. Park Chan-wook blends black comedy, Catholic guilt and raw lust, and never softens the blow. It runs over two hours and leans on its actors rather than effects. Stream Thirst (2009) online on iFILM.
