Southpaw

Southpaw (2015) is Antoine Fuqua's boxing drama you can watch online on iFILM, with Jake Gyllenhaal in a brutally physical turn as fighter Billy Hope.

Billy "The Great" Hope is the reigning light heavyweight champion who seems to have it all: the belts, the mansion, a devoted wife Maureen (Rachel McAdams) and a daughter, Leila. One violent night tears that life apart. Billy loses his family, his home and his license, and the courts take Leila away. His way back runs through Tick Wills (Forest Whitaker), a hard-nosed trainer at a rundown gym who cares less about the next title than about whether Billy can hold himself together.

Fuqua shoots the fights up close and unglamorous, the punches landing with real weight. The supporting cast includes Naomie Harris and rapper Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson, while the score came from James Horner, one of his final works before his death.
