Synopsis
The Boy (2016) is a horror thriller with a mystery streak from director William Brent Bell, and you can watch online on iFILM. Running from a bad past, young American Greta takes a nanny job at a remote English manor — only to find that her charge isn't a child but a life-sized porcelain doll named Brahms.
The elderly Heelshire couple treat the doll as their living son and hand Greta a list of unbending rules: feed him on schedule, read aloud, never leave him alone. It plays as harmless eccentricity at first. Then, alone in the house, Greta starts breaking the routine, and Brahms seems to register every slip. Objects shift on their own, footsteps sound in empty rooms, and the only person she can lean on is Malcolm, the local grocery delivery man.
Lauren Cohan of The Walking Dead carries nearly the whole film, building dread by patience rather than cheap jump scares — right up to a twist that flips the entire story. Stream The Boy (2016) online on iFILM.
