Brad Dourif is the fragile Billy Bibbit, Will Sampson the silent Chief Bromden, Christopher Lloyd the agitated Taber. As McMurphy pulls them back toward something like life, Ratched tightens her grip. The clash between these two is the whole film.

Adapted from Ken Kesey's 1962 novel and produced by a then-unknown Michael Douglas, the picture swept five Academy Awards at the 1976 ceremony — Picture, Director, Actor, Actress and Adapted Screenplay.
